Almost three months we have been on the road traveling along Europe, now it is time to make a big leap forward and head to India!
We will arrive in Mumbai next week and stay till mid December in the sub continent. In the last weeks, we have been working on establishing contact with individuals and organisations working on Open Knowledge related projects. The interest for topics like Knowledge Sharing and Open Data in this country is overwhelming and we are happy to count the following meetings on our schedule:
20th September, Mumbai, Workshop @ Web Notes Technologies office
Web Notes Technologies is an internet engineering company based out of Mumbai founded in 2008. They build web based Open Source applications for everyone to use. Some of them have created the website codeformumbai.org which facilitates the access and use of the existing indian open data datasets.
30th September, Vadodara, Workshop @ The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda
Open Knowledge Gateway (OKG) provides a platform to the faculty/researchers and students of MSU to access the free academic resources available on Internet without geographical limitations.
Mid November, Bangalore, Meeting @ Tactical Tech
Tactical Tech is an organisation dedicated to the use of information in activism. They focus on the use of data, design and technology in campaigning and on helping activists understand and manage their digital security and privacy risks. They also create tools to work with data sharing them to the public domain.
Mid November, Bangalore, Workshop @ Karnataka Learning Partnership
Karnataka Learning Partnership is a public space where all citizens can contribute to the cause of ensuring better schools and schooling for our children. Better education will ensure better human development and prosperity for our citizens.
